“…if your Mickey Mouse ears fall off, that nice Mr. Disney is not unduly perturbed. If someone buys a Discworld t-shirt and the colours run in the wash, I am the person who gets the email.”
– Terry Pratchett, Science Fiction Book Club interview 1996.
Terry’s books are at the heart of what we do at the Discworld Emporium, and we know how very special Terry’s creations are to his readers. From the quality of our wares to our customer service it’s important that you are nothing but delighted with your experience with us – we want to give you all of the best, and none of the green wobbly bits!
From releasing the first ever Discworld merchandise as Clarecraft in 1991 we taken huge pride in offering goods and services with the care and attention to detail that Terry expected of us. From our studios here in Wincanton and we collaborate with renowned artists and craftsmen including the esteemed Paul Kidby and David Wyatt to produce original Discworld souvenirs and collectibles of the finest quality. Our directors and designers are those same folks who worked with Terry Pratchett himself, so you can be sure that our products, services and sentiments are authentic and heartfelt.
From designing our wares to packing our products and dispatching our orders, we try to do as much as possible in-house at Discworld Emporium HQ. Our tiny, tight-knit team go about their duties with care and diligence, working closely together keep our standards high and fully in line with Merchant’s Guild regulations and code of conduct. As an official branch of the Ankh-Morpork Post Office, we pride ourselves in sending precious Discworld books and collectables all over the world safely, swiftly, and securely. We’ve been shipping Discworld books and merchandise for over 30 years, so you can be sure of our exemplary reputation for, quite literally, ‘delivering the goods’.
Of course, only Om is perfect and things can go wonky from time to time, but you can be sure that we will always do our very best to put things right pronto! Whether you are worried about your order, have received the wrong thing, a damaged thing, the thing but not the whole of the thing or are anything other than satisfied with our service please get in touch and we’ll be happy to help!
Being such a small and rather old-fashioned team, we are not able to facilitate a 24/7 customer service department. Our office is open 9-5pm on weekdays (except for public holidays), so unlike bigger retailers we are not always able to respond immediately to enquiries, but unlike those bigger retailers we care deeply about our customers and you will be looked after by a key member of our team who really knows their onions as soon as we can.
We know that it can be costly to purchase from a smaller retailer, especially for our far-flung Terry Pratchett fans. Therefore, we always try to add a little extra value in our offerings where we can, be it with little details in our wares and website, in the decoration of our packaging or with a personal and humorous touch in our customer service. We are extraordinarily lucky to have such loyal customers whose support is very special to us, so it’s only right you feel special too!
We hope you enjoy your experience exploring our website and wares, of course nothing beats reading a book but we hope we can transport you to Discworld just for a little bit! For more in-depth details about our services and heritage please click the links below to visit our information pages –
